There are three powertrains to pick from for the 2025 Mazda CX-50, each with its own benefits. The base-level configuration includes a Skyactiv®-G 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 187 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque while paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. There’s also a turbocharged version of this engine which pumps out 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque – it comes with a Skyactiv®-Drive transmission with a manual shift mode.
The reimagined hybrid powertrain for this new Mazda vehicle enables 219 horsepower and 163 lb-ft of torque alongside an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. Gas-powered trim levels come with i-Activ® all-wheel drive and the ability to tow up to 2,000 lbs with ease.
