Technical Specifications
The 2023 Mazda3 Hatchback uses a naturally aspirated, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder base engine that delivers 191 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, paired with front-wheel drive (FWD), with the option to upgrade to all-wheel drive (AWD). You can also upgrade to a turbocharged, four-cylinder engine that pumps out up to 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque.
Technology

The interior of this new Mazda model also has an eight-speaker audio system. Push-button start eliminates the need for a driver to use a key to start their vehicle, while rain-sensing wipers clear the windshield at a speed proportional to the rain’s intensity.
The Select trim adds dual-zone climate control, while the Preferred trim is the first in the lineup to offer heated front seats. The Carbon Edition trim primarily alters the external aesthetics, while upgrading the sound system from eight to 12 speakers. The Premium trim is the first to include standard leather seats and Sirius XM connectivity.
The Turbo and Turbo Premium Plus models are the only trims with the more powerful engine by default. They also stand out via gloss-black exterior elements.
Safety
All trims of the 2023 Mazda3 Hatchback utilize the i-ACTIVSENSE® safety tech suite. Adaptive cruise control helps the driver maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of them, and automatic emergency braking stops the vehicle if it detects an impending collision.
The Select trim’s blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert notify the driver of obstacles in their blind spots, and of approaching traffic when reversing out of a parking spot.
The Turbo Premium Plus trim adds reverse automatic emergency braking. Traffic Jam Assist controls vehicle behavior in traffic jams to increase driver safety.
Available Traffic Sign Assist and a 360-degree camera, seen through the active driver display projected onto the back of the windshield, inform you of your surroundings without taking your eyes off the road. Front and rear parking sensors further enhance your ability to park safely.
