The 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV is the plug-in hybrid variant of the 2024 Mazda CX-90. Overall, the lineup has three trim offerings:
- Preferred
- Premium
- Premium Plus
The PHEV powertrain has a 189-horsepower 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, paired with a 173-horsepower electric motor. Together, they generate 323 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. All trims utilize standard all-wheel drive (AWD) and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
This model usually seats eight passengers. However, you can opt for second-row captain’s chairs, which reduces seating to seven.
Interior and Technology
As a baseline, the 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV contains an eight-speaker audio system, alongside Bluetooth® connectivity, an onboard Pandora internet radio app, and access to Mazda Connect services.
The Premium trim adds aesthetic differences like piano black exterior trim and features like a power moonroof and heated front seats. It is also the first trim with wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® compatibility. In the Premium Plus trim, the infotainment system contains navigation with off-road maps, a three-month trial to SiriusXM® satellite radio, and a three-year subscription to SiriusXM® Traffic and Travel Link.
Safety
Like other new Mazda models, the 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV protects you with a comprehensive suite of safety features. Forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking stop your vehicle if it detects an accident. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts notify you of traffic in your blind spots or when backing out of a parking spot.
The Premium trim adds traffic sign recognition, which presents traffic signs’ contents on the nearest display, and front and rear parking sensors. The Premium Plus trim complements the reverse cross-traffic detection with the front-oriented version and the forward emergency braking with the reverse counterpart.
